Their systems depend heavily on the CAN bus to communicate, and it looks like this is what is going to take the most time. CANopen is new to me, but the specifications are clear enough. These chips can handle a lot of the communication automatically, so its back to register programming and maybe a bit of assembly here and there! This is a short term mission, and it will only last a month or so. After that, who knows... I need some holidays with my daughter anyway! |





The end of my previous mission, and the beginning of a new one. I am now in the R&D offices of Hydrokit, a French company that specializes in hydraulic systems. They have a very nice automation system that is based on PIC18F chips, and my job is to help them with the development, but also the project management, installing an infrastructure to help track bugs, changes, requests and source code.
